Any Democrat doing the whole "we disagreed but I never doubted Dick Cheney's commitment to this country" or whatever the fuck needs to be yeeted into the sun. No one should ever listen to them again about anything, but especially not about policy or elections.

I bet a couple of them will make a show of moving to Texas or Florida and then find out. What they find out, exactly, depends on which city, but in every case they're not going to find the luxuries or services they're accustomed to. There's a reason they're in New York and it's not low taxes.

Maybe nobody in the great big world cares about this.
But the public libraries in tiny Jefferson County in Northern Appalachia were in danger of losing their tax funding thanks to right-wing book banners. And we won. The library's funding is safe!!!!!

Georgia Democrats had not won a statewide race that wasn't for a federal office since 2006.

They won two races tonight, both against GOP incumbents.

The margins? 62% to 38% in both.

serious note: they're gonna try 5x harder to sabotage the midterms after tonight and we're gonna have to organize on a literally historic scale to stop them

Can’t stop thinking about all the robber baron fucks that held secret meetings and spent MILLIONS AND MILLIONS in bribes and campaign investments and attack ads and media manipulation trying to tank Mamdani currently having the dawning realization that their money is completely and utterly useless.

Democratic party leadership has been on autopilot for ten years, they weren't losing to fascism, fascism isn't popular enough for them to lose to fascism, they were allowing it to fill the void where their leadership should have been. Tonight we're seeing that we have other options. They should too.

whatever you think of Spanberger, the fact that her opponent ran a campaign based almost entirely on transphobia and is on track to eat shit in the biggest blowout the state has seen since 2009 is unambiguously a huge win

Earle-Sears ran what felt like 12 billion ads about how much she hated trans kids and I didn’t hear a single pundit say she should stick to real issues that affect real people.

The "make child abuse legal for parents" amendment passed overwhelmingly, of course. That one is the most disgust-inducing, but there are several stinkers that turned out exactly as expected.

Looking forward to learning all about how the right should move left to win elections tomorrow. They should maybe dye their hair pink, learn to love pronouns.

More than 50% and more than a million votes. Call that a Mamdani Mandate. Alliterate their asses.

this is an obvious overcorrection that misleads the polling data and will lead to disaster in the Heartland. the results of tonight show that the Democrats should moderate: adopting two or at most three of the five pillars of Islam

Decision Desk has called both of Georgia's statewide races, for public service commissioner, for Democrats.

If confirmed, this would be a really huge win for Democrats:

It'd be their first statewide win in any non-federal race since 2006!
