I don’t have an additional shelf, of course, so for now there’s a pile of books on the floor, but the fact that I have that many books again is wonderful!

The industry needs those books the most!

A few years back I had one of those, “grab a bag and get out, leaving most of my belongings behind,” situations, and I’ve been getting things back together ever since.

But I now have enough books for my bookshelf again that I need to put my sewing and crafting supplies on a different shelf. Yay!

It sounds fascinating to me, but readers are so used to cleanly-packaged books that can be advertised, “Cinderella but it’s science-fi and she’s a cyborg!” that it’s hard to pitch anything that’s actually different, and it bums me out!

This is why indie books are such treasures!

I can definitely see some of my Jane Austen tendencies in my work, but how does one describe that to readers.

“It’s a post-post-apocalyptic fantasy that gets more sci-fi as it goes with some vaguely Jane Austen vibes and when you read it you’ll know I read Star Wars novels during the 90s”
