It used to upset me to learn about the great extinction periods Earth has gone through, but now I take comfort in them. Life will go on after us. It will be different, but it will go on.

We are all fortunate that our little friends tolerate us the way they do. Like, my sister and I used to dress up our childhood cats from time to time, wildly unwise in retrospect.

The duality of a yawning cat: cute little mouth, ears back, eyes slightly buggy.

But also: a clear view of just how long those teefers are.

I can understand why a good, hard, meaningful cat bite could send someone to the ER, those things don't mess around.

Spend three weeks trying not to think about it, followed by an hour of writing something you hate, another three weeks of wringing your hands over how to do better, before just hitting the publish button and living forever with the fact that you hate writing blurbs, we all hate writing blurbs.

I continue to recommend the book "The Most Human Human", it's probably the first good book I read about AI back in, I dunno *checks publication date* probably 2012 and it does a great job looking into how humans and AI interact and what the Turing test actually is.
