At least twice that I can remember offhand. Glaring passes right to a palace player.
He didn't stink out the joint. But I felt we had more balance vs Bilbao with him and Grav.

Build modern housing. Build modern infrastructure. Build modern democracy. More power generation is ok, but efficiency is the game-changer. Yes it can be done in Canada.
At least twice that I can remember offhand. Glaring passes right to a palace player.

Dom's passing was erratic and lead to turnovers and counters. He charges around a lot and can get caught out. Bit of a wild card.
10.08.2025 18:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hard to judge the midfield with our 3rd and 4th mids starting. Dom needs one of Grav or Alexis with him.

10.08.2025 03:18 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'd argue too that being a university town with lots of renting students from away is a factor in Montreal like it is in Halifax.
Montreal's 2 anglo universities thrive on renting students from out of province. As do the francophone universities from non-Montrealer QC students.
A lot of that difference in attitude about renting culture is shaped by how mature Montreal is as a big city compared even to Toronto.
Another is the immigrant experience in growing Eng Cdn cities that receive large numbers of new Canadians. Success is owning real estate for many immigrants.
Ford is from the suburbs. He drives everywhere and 'visits' the city like he visits Canafian Tire.
The worst thing to happen to city centres was amalgamation. Toronto is a case in point.
Plus, bike lanes allow for larger sidewalks and more pleasant browsing expΓ©riences and spontaneous purchase opportunities. Plus, terraces can be more easily accommodated.
Bike lanes are a no brainer in an urban centre.
Bike lanes allow regular stop n shop by people who live a short-median distance away as well as commuters on their way home.
Street parking is for irregular distant suburban tourists. During rush hour their parking is restricted. So no buying/dining on the way home from work.
Trade policy should be only one part of overall industrial policy. For too long Canada has had no real industrial policy. We had economic development as just extraction/harvest for export.
Time for Canada to put on its big boy pants.
Powerful people are telling us that AI is here to make life better...but they can't apply it to creating logical balanced electoral districts?

I've lived in several eastern cities and found great local cheeses.
There is nothing like a Montreal cheese shop.
Supply management also allows for smaller farms that provide reliable income for farming families which in turn supports farming communities to thrive.

03.08.2025 19:34 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Interesting point and history. I agree, the provinces have normally thought, well, provincially. I am hopeful that Carney understands how to tap into foreign investment funds to finance these projects.
If this turns into another 'regional development' scheme I'll be surprised.
I want us to eventually stop exporting electricity to the US. First apply an export tariff..

If generative AI could REALLY make the next GTA in 6 months with 10 staff, or write the next bestseller, or produce 10 blockbusters a day? They wouldn't be trying to sell it to YOU. They would keep it for themselves and guard it from you ferociously.

02.08.2025 15:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not an import tariff. That impoverishes us. An export tax would make our exports to them more expensive..they would pay. Plus the inflation it would cause would have an effect.
