Much as I wouldn't put Mr. Ford in charge of making judicial decisions due to his lack of qualifications, I think it's absurd to trust the man who championed the "sport" of dogs rending tethered rabbits limb from limb in fenced-in compounds to make moral proclamations about animal cruelty.

Dr. Yoni Freedhoff, a professor at the University of Ottawa who specializes in obesity, said that the only explanation for Scheer's comments, which he described as "intensely stupid," is that they are meant to curry political favour. During his bid to become Conservative leader, Scheer garnered support from members of the dairy industry that helped him edge out his main competitor, Maxime Bernier. Scheer won the leadership over Bernier by a whisker.

Seems like we're never more than one bad election away from the most compromised politicians in the country calling all the shots. Nerve-wracking!

Take Umar Zameer f'rinstance. Mr. Ford had a "gut feeling" that letting him out on bail was just wrong (despite what the legal system said), and he wasn't shy about sharing that feeling with the world.
