And the sophistry, "some hitherto undiscovered combination of [vast set x] may be a causal factor in [vast set y]" is a perfectly undisprovable proposition; a crankish quakery to entertain cantankerous bad-faith actors.

This is not how we science.

With the current system, my doctor and pharmacist (and hematologist, etc.) communicate via fax. That's just wrong in 2026.

I don't mean to pooh-pooh fax technology β€” it was an amazing advance over what preceded it.

It's a calculated risk for Mr. Ford.

Accept the reality that privatization and austerity have failed to improve conditions and admit that it was time to make substantial investments in healthcare *years ago,* or sweep it under the rug and hope nobody notices while he runs for a fourth term?

Much as I wouldn't put Mr. Ford in charge of making judicial decisions due to his lack of qualifications, I think it's absurd to trust the man who championed the "sport" of dogs rending tethered rabbits limb from limb in fenced-in compounds to make moral proclamations about animal cruelty.

Doug Ford speaking through a big fat pile of dollar bills, y'all.

To be clear, I am not endorsing Mr. Ford's capitulations; indeed, I would much rather the government of Canada's most populous province be guided by something other than whoever gave the most lucrative wedding present at a Ford family wedding.

Mr. Ford has been perfectly forthcoming on this issue: he considers collaboration with USA automakers pivotal not just to Ontario's economic success, but "national security" in general.

You can read his current "Fortress Am-Can" declaration on the Gov. Ont. website:

Dr. Yoni Freedhoff, a professor at the University of Ottawa who specializes in obesity, said that the only explanation for Scheer's comments, which he described as "intensely stupid," is that they are meant to curry political favour.

During his bid to become Conservative leader, Scheer garnered support from members of the dairy industry that helped him edge out his main competitor, Maxime Bernier. Scheer won the leadership over Bernier by a whisker.

Spare a moment, won't you? to consider the unrealized potential of a crossover with Louis Del Grande's campy psycho-drama-comedy-whodunnit production, Seeing Things (1981-1987).

Take Umar Zameer f'rinstance. Mr. Ford had a "gut feeling" that letting him out on bail was just wrong (despite what the legal system said), and he wasn't shy about sharing that feeling with the world.

When Mr. Zameer is exonerated, Mr. Ford grudgingly backs down β€” no lessons learned, no apologies.

1977
