Yesterday a Labour government voted to slash Β£2 billion from some of the poorest people in our society.

They sip drinks at Mastercard HQ while disabled people are pushed to food banks.

I know I speak for millions when I say: we won't take this anymore.

Screenshot of a document regarding a Freedom of Information Act request. It lists three points asking for: "The specific question(s) asked that produced this figure," "Any documents, reports, internal communications, or datasets held by the EHRC that provide further detail, breakdowns, or analysis of this satisfaction figure (including demographic data or comparison with previous years, if available)," and "A direct link (if publicly available) or a copy of the original source document(s) or dataset(s)." The document states, "This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000." The response indicates that the Equality and Human Rights Commission does not hold the requested information. It further clarifies that Baroness Falkner did not refer to an 81% "satisfaction rate" at a meeting, and the figures quoted refer to media sentiment analysis, with additional information available on the UK Parliament website here.

🧡We sent an FOI to the EHRC about the β€œ81% satisfaction rate” claim. We got a response back.

Which revealed a letter to the Women and Equalities Committee.

What we found goes far beyond a misleading β€œapproval rating.”

The British media gave glowing reviews of the EHRC when they started to become explicitly transphobic?? The British media?? Say this isn’t so.

Well done to the broadcasters who have spent so long doing the PR for the far right in this country - I hope you won’t pretend it was nothing to do with your valiant efforts if we get a far right government- it is important that your contribution is remembered

If Parliament changed a rule they didn't have to change to specifically ban you the day before you were due to turn up to Parliament, you'd think it was targeted, too.

If women's rights were under threat from trans people, you'd expect that hundreds and thousands of women would have shown up at parliament to make their point when they had their chance

πŸ“’ BREAKING:

In a defeat for anti-trans clinicians the @bma.org.uk has voted in favour of affirming "the right of all LGBTQ+ patients and staff to identity-based care and working conditions – defined as care and policies that actively account for the individual’s lived, intersecting identities"

I was at Parliament today lobbying my MP.

THIS is what the ladies toilets look like by Westminster Hall… Notice the full floor to ceiling individual cubicle doors… Note how everyone has β€˜dignity and privacy’ without the need to ban trans women!

We had a conversation today with the Met in regards to our planned route..

In light of this conversation to avoid unnecessary restrictions on our protest we have agreed to switch the start to Marble Arch with the end point outside Downing Street on Whitehall.

Please spread the word..

The UKSC ruling was an opportunity for the government and the EHRC to step up and commit to affirm the rights of all. They've failed on every measure, choosing to peddle hate and discrimination instead.

We've heard enough: Kishwer Falkner and Bridget Phillipson must resign.

Lol. Told you. β€˜Lefty’ Jo Rowling now backing whichever party has the best chance of withdrawing the UK from the European Court of Human Rights - regardless of other repercussions. All to satisfy her obsession. She knows the Supreme Court ruling will be torn up.

I am really saddened by the level of vitriol and hatred being directed toward the trans community.

We are losing our common humanity. How hard is it to treat people with kindness and respect?

Trans people are human beings β€” and they deserve to live in dignity like anyone else.

In response to calls to ban parties from pride for their transphobic politics, I think one thing to make note of is that if you're a politician in a transphobic party, instead of standing at pride you could speak at parliament about the shame the government's failure on trans policy brings you.

I can't believe that some of the UK media is still trying to say "The Supreme Court ruling isn't a victory for either side" when the cis supremacists are smoking cigars and popping champagne and we are attending mass protests. It's such a brazen lie

Perhaps post-op Trans women should organise a "hog a urinal space" protest day in single sex only provided public restrooms to show the ridiculousness of it all.. It could be combined with a Trans men in the Ladies day too...

How anti-trans activists silence their opponents People claiming to be β€˜silenced’ are being featured in national mainstream media platforms. There’s a word for that

β€œWhenever people keep being given a platform to say they have no platform, or whenever people speak endlessly about being silenced, you not only have a performative contradiction; you are witnessing a mechanism of power.”

In 1981, the UK Government was dragged kicking and screaming to the European Court of Human Rights and ordered to recognise gay people’s right to live a full and normal life. Sad that this will now have to happen again for trans people. www.humandignitytrust.org./resources/du...

The Equality Act needs revisiting by Labour ASAP to right the wrongs in the Supreme Court ruling for GRC holders. True Misogyny and Patriarchy is being unleashed by the rich and the far right but so called feminists ditch what were allies? What's the next letter of LGBT that will be eroded/erased?

Ruling on β€˜woman’ definition at odds with UK Equality Act’s aim, says ex-civil servant Giving trans women same sex discrimination rights as biological women was β€˜clear premise’, says key figure A former civil servant who played a key role in drafting the Equality Act has said the supreme court’s ruling about the legal definition of a woman contradicted the act’s original intentions. Melanie Field, who oversaw its drafting and passage through Westminster in 2010, said the legislation was meant to give transgender people with gender recognition certificates the same legal status as biological men or women.
