I spoke to one of the Google help assistants - an actual person, unless the AI is getting good at spelling errors - and they made sure for me that the slop is opt in only. They admitted that they'd love to be able to sneak into the 'Gemini room' and switch the power off forever. Then the chat ended.

#Google are getting really desperate with the #AI thing. The uptake must really be awful. I have a very basic storage account with them, and was just emailed to say I now have access to all the 'advantages' of one of their previously subscription only AI slop accounts. Nope. Do not want #AIslop

I adore these books, and recommend them wholeheartedly. I find them inspirational as a writer. They make me think about descriptive text in a different way. Proper art is inspirational, and these are proper art.

Could not agree more. These are an amazing resource for writers (and filmmakers), pushing your perceptions in all sorts of directions.
