What's bad is politicians using the extra tax that immigrants pay for tax cuts and service cuts, spreading the same level of services across a larger population, then pointing the finger at immigrants and making them the enemy. This way of doing things comes directly from the capitalist class.

Between the British oligarchy and the European oligarchy it's hard to choose

All arms shipments to Israel should be cut off, now, permanently. The offensive/defensive distinction is bogus and conditioning military aid on β€œhuman rights standards” is a make-work program for some of the worst lawyers imaginable. There is no justification for any of the aid; end it

So what's the unconstructive criticism from the left of poor Mr Starmer that you were worried about earlier?

Quite agree. He is a senior servant of the capitalist class. He wants to be seen as ordinary which is why he keeps on about his dad being a toolmaker. But all the senior servants of the capitalist class are nasty.

Oh well the story is the example that illustrates the dilemma. There's not much discussion without it, only angry generalisations.

So you're certain this is a case of grooming by a sick old man. I suppose he's dead so he can't sue you. But she's still alive and doesn't see it that way. Does she have a say on this?

The toxic idea that people who have reached the normal age of consent for heterosexual sex have no agency or free will has often been directed at women and gay men, I'm just careful not to join in that toxicity. And it transpires that the subject doesn't see it that way anyway. Oppression is real.

Oh it's more than that; it's hackneyed, reductive and wrong. The Labour Right systematically undermined the centre-left leadership for the entire 6 years. And the result is we have a far right Labour-branded government peddling austerity and anti-Palestinian racism. Yeah leave it there.

The Labour Right had manoeuvred to a powerful position by then. They wanted him out and their man in. Of course they weren't going to let him do the right thing about anything: the Tories, the Second Referendum plan. They got what they wanted. Hardly Corbyn's fault.

The ICC’s arrest warrants are long overdue.

The Prime Minister & Foreign Secretary must immediately endorse this decision. That is the bare minimum.

Will the UK government now, finally, honour its international obligations to prevent genocide and end all arms sales to Israel?

BREAKING: Sir Keir Starmer has explained that he sadly can't nationalise water and energy, give you those workers' rights he promised, or even the green new deal. Best he can do is nuclear war with Russia, is that okay? x
