I haven’t been able to maintain focus on any single book recently. Hopping around several without gaining traction is a lot like trying to watch TV with my mother in the late 90s. In retrospect neither of us should have been surprised by our brain diagnoses (decades later).

Everything is bad, but books are good. Get a book. Read the book. Cherish the book. Finish the book. Tell your friends about the book, and leave a review of the book. Hold the book close. Listen to what it tells you. Do as it commands. Place it on the dread altar and let it guide your every choice.

Spent way more time than I usually allot on social media the last 24 hours. Now not only am I disappointed, my anxiety has spiked, reminding me why I only allot 20 minutes or less to this stuff.

J and I had a bookstore date yesterday and I picked up @tkingfisher.com ‘s “The Twisted Ones” - haven’t been able to put it down since. I love the narrator’s voice, the book-in-a-book-in-a-book framing, and of course Bongo the dog.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Emerging from another haze of sleep and addled dreams, I spiral into despair over the lyrics to “Ventura Highway”. Somewhere under the fog my rational brain tries to argue “Aligator lizards in the air” isn’t real, it was a fever hallucination.

the people who make this country unsafe aren’t immigrants. the people who make this country unsafe are cops.

Today we took legal action to challenge our termination, filing an appeal with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. We did this because we believe the elimination of 18F violated safeguards that exist to protect a nonpartisan civil service.

it's important this go as viral as the original story for morale purposes if nothing else. despite the image they project these people are NOT unaccountable. consequences CAN be forced. focused anger and outrage MATTERS.

Seems like it's everyone's patriotic duty to report men getting hair plugs and erectile dysfunction meds, as those are both gender-affirming care
