Not so much a National Park - more of a National Disgrace.

02.10.2025 12:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0we desperately need more rain though. the local river is really struggling, in some places there's only a few tiny streams of water. people may love the sunshine but rain is necessary in so many ways.

While saying they want to "preserve nature" the Conservative Party have just pledged to scrap the Climate Change Act.
This makes no sense.
How do more floods, more droughts, and rising temperatures "preserve" nature?
That's what scrapping the Act will lead to.

i love seeing the cycles of nature and almost every stage has something to give in some kind of way

Outrageous and unacceptable. La Rioja, Spain now permits hunters to take wolf heads and pelts as trophies. This small Iberian wolf population faces serious danger, and years of protection are at risk. #stoptrophyhunting #protectwolves

New info from RSPB reveals last known location of this young Hen Harrier was on a grouse moor between Reeth & Redmire on NE side of Yorkshire Dales National Park, before she disappeared in suspicious circumstances.

Autumn arrival alert: the Yellow-browed Warbler has landed! ๐
Once rare, these tiny travellers from Siberia are becoming a more familiar sight as they pass through each autumn.
Weighing just 6 grams, their sharp, distinctive call is usually the first clue they're around.
Have you seen one?
That looks like a really lovely place

27.09.2025 07:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A small flock of Swifts sweep across a clear blue sky, their slim bodies and crescent wings cutting sharply above the roof of a house. A beloved summer sight - and one at risk of disappearing if protections for nature are lost.
The tree you climbed as a child. Gone. The Swifts over your town. Gone. The air you breathe. Polluted. The river. Unsafe.
This is the reality of deregulation.
Cutting protections would mean disaster for nature & our economy.
