Right??? It's so hard and stressful and damn near impossible to just go for a walk. I have cleats for my hiking shoes but they can't handle when it's this bad. I *can* make it at home, but I feel like you can empathize with homemade whatever never tasting the same or scratching the same itch as your favourite brands recipe.

I'm a Quebecer stuck living elsewhere in Canada and I am *always* mad that cretons are not sold in the rest of the country. It's a pork-based spread that's not like paté, and it's not like liverwurst, it's kinda like rillettes? It's unique, local, and delicious, a breakfast fave.

Everyone knows about Montreal smoked meat sandwiches, but smoked meat *spaghetti* is a classic treat locals know but tourists don't. It's exactly what it sounds like, spaghetti with red sauce that has chopped smoked meat in it. Fancy or groundbreaking? Nope. Delicious? You bet.

Glad to hear it's not just me! 😄 Thanks for sharing what's worked for you, I have some perlite I can make a mix with so I'll give it a whirl.

For how ubiquitous and cheap they are to buy as started plants in the spring, I'm kinda boggled by how apparently VERY SPECIFIC they are to grow. 😂

So far the instructions are:

- need total darkness and cool soil to germinate

- seed in 1/8" soil and needs bright light to germinate

- scatter on soil, cover lightly with loose soil, bright light

- scatter in peat, cover lightly with peat, light needs not specified

This year I'm trying pansies from seed (I buy them started every year anyways so why not give it a whirl) and so far I'm 4/4 on each packet having different germination instructions. Are they really all *that* different? 😂🌱
