Finished @wiswell.bsky.social's book 'Someone you can Build a Nest in'. Really enjoyed it, would recommend! It seems to have achieved everything it set out to do, which must not have been easy considering the main character. 🖤

The card name is One with Nothing. It's an Instant. The design of the card is by Jim Nelson, I believe. The illustration is bright pinks on top of blacks and dark blues. A man, bearded, East Asian, old, bald, stares ahead of him while three glowing pink orbs, each as big as his head, float around him like ball lightnings, connected by visual energy to his head.

Got my first rejection, or rather: the absence of a message after the judging date went by and finalists were selected.

Rather than a defeat it feels as if it opens up possibilities. To quote that one Magic the Gathering card: "When nothing remains, everything is equally possible."

On to the next!
