The ”America” thing is, like the Fahrenheit system, and example of Americans, through laziness, narcissism, and stubbornness, actually landing on a correct point

But you absolutely can't both meal-prep professional quality meals AND save money because of the economy of scale. If I wanted to have a bowl of restaurant quality ramen every day for lunch it would cost me more to make that at home than it would to just buy it somewhere.

it's not overly hard to meal plan and grocery shop in a way that saves you money over going out, but it's also easy to do it so that you end up spending more, either, so both sides are really talking past each other.

I just finished wuthering heights and what it shares with moby dick as a Great Novel is that it is both mysterious and insane. Events lack explanation, spectators to the main story are mostly baffled by it. In the end no one seems to have consciously learned anything at all.
