EPA Moves to Ignore Power Plant Carbon Emissions, Deny Climate Science Zeldin is proposing to walk away from regulating carbon emissions from power plants—plus nearly every other source of heat-trapping emissions.

As UCS’s Julie McNamara explains, in a handout to the fossil fuel industry, EPA is attempting to argue that climate pollution from coal- and gas-fired power plants—responsible for about a quarter of all US heat-trapping emissions—isn’t worth regulating.

Fossil Fuel Companies Make Billions in Profit as We Suffer Billions in Losses As fossil fuel companies report record-breaking profits, losses from damages driven by climate change continue to mount.

Meanwhile, those same companies are making billions in profit as the world is reeling from the effects of climate change, including recent disastrous and deadly flooding across the US...

Now, those same companies are begging for immunity from court cases in multiple states where they're being sued for lying to the public about their knowledge of climate change and covering up what they knew as much as possible.

Big Oil has been lying to us for decades: Don’t let it off the hook Blatant attempts to grant polluters nationwide immunity show just how far some officials will go to deny communities their day in court.

My colleague at @ucs.org, @kathymulvey.bsky.social, wrote an excellent article published in The Hill discussing Big Oil's role in spreading climate change misinformation, despite the fact that they knew about it since the 1970s.
