the word "Earth" made to look like soil on ocean. it is repeated 5 times, with each new line showing that the letter forms have been swallowed from the outside, similar to how the oceans will cover land if the polar ice caps continue to melt and release sequestered water.

i found this neat variable font that controls how much of the big, chunky, machine lettering gets swallowed up by land erosion. it's called 'climate crisis', and it is free. here's a design i made with it real quick to show you what i mean.

today, i am drawing ants for a client.

A photo of yours truly sitting by a riverbank near an old stone bridge, painting a scene.

The finished painting, which shows a riverside and a stone bridge that lost some details when I did the ink outlines.

I tend to sketch with pencil first, then do watercolor layers. Once I have a good sense of the composition, I go back with an ink pen and add outlines that help define the scene further.

Today, I am working on concepts for a new brand. This is always my favorite part, because you get to just flip through books of logos and try to find something that works.

Is there any #nativeamerican / #americanindian presence on Bsky? I am a professional vector artist, and for a long time I have wanted to undertake a big project to create vector versions of each native tribe's flag.

The problem is that the flags you find online sometimes are not legit.

All I need is someone who can authoritatively tell me which flag is which and what the symbols or text on a flag are meant to be.

I would release all of my work as 'libre', meaning public domain. My goal is to help every tribe be and feel seen.

The realities of poverty on rezzes means that getting access to people who can confirm which flags are which is difficult for someone in Philly.

I carried that with me for a long time. But I must admit I am a little relieved to know it wasn't just me — he had been a real dick to a lot of people.

Doug did the illustrations for one of my favorite bands (Five Iron Frenzy), and I was a big fan of EWJ too. I had posters of it covering one whole wall on my room.

I went on his forum and linked two images of (admittedly, niave) characters I was developing, hoping I would get a nod or encouragement
