Thankfully (for now), Bhatcharrya still barely understands his role. He still calls it the National Institute* of Health, for example, and spends all his time doing podcasts.

Being a physician means you passed USMLE and are currently licensed.

Makary is a physician and surgeon and could be delicensed for making false/misleading claims.

You have to see these presentations to understand how naive they are (watch him tell NIAID to study "infectious diseases", for example).. There is no way he could address concerns from real scholars like @jeremymberg.bsky.social in a public setting.
