...she's not even a trained/experienced journalist*, so the non-political parts of CBS News are also going to be beyond her. She brings nothing to covering, say, a weather disaster or disease outbreak. Her impulse is going to be to put a partisan political valence on non-pol/non-partisan reporting.

But nothing in her record shows she has any kind of common touch. She's not a Charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro. She's a Jewish lesbian from the Ivy League who plays well on Bill Maher (or at least plays well to Maher's ego).

She's not gonna be able to 'do' the Fox thing. And further...

And that served her well in getting a job at the NYT, and then wooing deep-pocketed backers for her "school" and The Free Press. It even explains why the Ellisons are throwing money at her and giving her this job: she speaks to aims and thoughts of rich conservative aholes. She caters and flatters.

So the thing with Weiss taking over CBS News is that I do not think she can deliver Fox News. She doesn't have the Fox/Ailes lowest common denominator/carnival show sensibilities. The "populist touch."

Her whole thing has been putting a well-heeled/elite shine on conservative bullshit.
