I know when I'm doing clinical work with Plurals, it's much more like actual family / group therapy. Selves get upset or offended or scared of each other. Emotional repair and active apology needs to be made to actually improve communication. Which may not be enough. Some arguments get

In these clinical trainings I'm imagining what an angry aspect might say in relation to my life. But when I switch or have expressions from other selves, I'm getting wholly different information I can't predict and is much more complex because they are a self.

IFS feels, when I've done trainings around this or child parts, a little closer to method acting. I'm not switching or regressing to other states when I'm in a clinical training. I'm imagining an "as if" that's fully relevant to my history and psyche.... but they aren't a separate self.

So, the problem a lot of plurals have with ifs... to be blunt, is that many of us with plural selves have selves that have full unique thoughts, interests, age ranges and personality traits.
A lot of ifs assumes there's a core and then there are these definable job traits that anyone can unblend

I got an extension on the deadline for my book, which is a relief. Other folks did say I put it too tight. I think I'll get it done in 6 months, but that's really breakneck speed. I thought I would have more done by now. And I'm aware I never cut myself slack. So, here's me doing that.

That sounds like a spin. It wasn't a coordinated attack. It was a bunch of people pissed at her. There's a difference. A psyop tends to not make a lot of sense and needs to be sold to the people through repetition. This made sense and was directly verifiable.

One of the issues I tried to break down for the dissoc listserv was the Double Empathy Problem.
When I got reprimanded for pointing out a blatent untruth in the Social Media and DID article by Salter et al, I cited this and provided references as to why this would be an issue for neurotypical mods

What's interesting with my leaving this listserv community in the way that I did is that, apparently word has spread way beyond that listserv and I'm being contacted by important folks not tied to any of my immediate communities saying I did an important activism thing. Which feels good but odd.

Oh yeah. the boundary i set was: you need to stop condescending and talking down to me about autism and adhd as if I haven't been studying for a few years while also trying to dictate to me that none of it is real and only trauma.
