Too many ideas crammed into too short a book. I enjoyed some, like the capture of the ship and the structure of the Trellisane society, but none of the many components got any room to breathe. All the threads tie up in the space of a single chapter near the end. Still, the top 8 crew members you love (including Chapel) all get quality moments to shine, so it's not a total loss.
