Jay Bhattacharya: I do not believe that patients' care was disrupted because I ordered (...) that the patients would have continuity of care. If there were disruptions, it's the responsibility of the researchers (...), not the NIH. That is really an unacceptable and outrageous response. You all distributed funding - you can make an edict from Washington DC, 'Don't disrupt care!' but that can be a very complicated thing.
1 in 30 NIH grants were terminated — tossing out years of research for a cure and leaving more than 74,000 patients in limbo. But this is apparently all part of "restoring public trust" in science.
Enough is enough. We need to take back our science, health, and democracy!
