18.01.2026 21:27 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As a huge baseball fan, I love baseball movies & books. โThe Naturalโ will always be one of my favorite films. Finally got around to reading Malamudโs novel, which was a great read. Although the book and film may diverge in various ways, they both capture the beauty and heartbreak of the game. ๐๐
18.01.2026 03:35 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0First completed book of 2026. โAttendingโ by Dr. Ronald Epstein. I started my PhD in Educational Leadership this fall with an eye to exploring the intersection of theatre, the medical humanities, and higher education. A fascinating and insightful read! ๐๐
10.01.2026 06:12 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I always found his work to be inspiring, clever, mischievous, and playful. The way he was able to turn big philosophical and political ideas into palpable and dramatic stories - intimate and epic, moving and laugh-inducing - never ceased to amaze me. RIP Sir Tom.

29.04.2025 15:07 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Today marks the first anniversary of my book getting published! It was a labor of love and one of my proudest achievements (especially since it was my first foray). If youโre interested in theatrical farce, or some โserious laughterโ, please check out the book!๐๐
24.04.2025 20:35 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My seminar paper looked at โTitus Andronicusโ and two contemporary offshoots, Taylor Macโs โGary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicusโ, and Canadian playwright Colleen Murphyโs โThe Society for the Destitute Presents Titus Bouffonius.โ Love me some Bouffon clowns.

In honor of our Opening last night! Very proud of our students and faculty. Itโs been quite the journey to Castle Frankenstein! Getting to direct the musical version of one of my favorite movies, has been a ton of fun.

02.02.2025 03:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Dawn Raids by Oscar Kightley is the first play from NZ Iโve ever read. Written in 1997, and set in the โ70s, its contemporary relevance is striking; especially given the recent and scary EOs surrounding immigrants and deportations here in the USA. This is theatre speaking a global language.
27.01.2025 17:30 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Remains one of my favourite plays (and directorial experiences). Looking forward to revisiting and writing about it for the Shakespeare Association of America Conference in Boston! ๐๐
25.01.2025 22:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I was lucky enough to see the original production at Steppenwolf. A brilliantly executed โmicroโ look at โmacroโ politics. It left a mark on me. I leave it here in response to today.
21.01.2025 02:49 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This semester Iโve stepped in as the Interim Chair of my theatre department, while my buddy is on sabbatical. Looking for some bon mots, I picked up this book, and not only does Myers offer wonderful advice and perspective, but he does it with brevity and nuance. ๐๐
13.01.2025 03:44 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I adore Jocelyn Biohโs playwriting voice. An important contemporary writer, she recently made her Broadway debut with Jajaโs African Hair Braiding. ๐๐
07.01.2025 02:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One of those books that crosses (defies?) genres and is filled with deliciously witty prose and imagination. Jasper Ffordeโs hilarious book (and the Thursday Next series) continue to linger many years after I was first introduced to it.

01.01.2025 17:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I hope that changes - the Donmar seems an ideal place for an โimmersiveโ show like Natasha. Itโs a great musical. I was surprised to read itโs only making its UK premiere now!
