How soon will there be letters in the Buxton Advertiser, and posts on the local Facebook group, complaining that kids are now riding their bikes and kicking balls around on the street?

People can be incredibly noise blind (deaf?).

Potatoes, beets, carrots, onions, peppers, whatever other veg you fancy. Chop into chunks. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, herbs. Chuck in some garlic gloves. Add chicken pieces (optional). Roast in oven until cooked. Sprinkle with feta cheese / olives / toasted seeds. Yum yum.

They've bullied the parish council into submission by protracted legal action.

They should be ashamed of themselves

It’s NOT a city’s responsibility to size their city (its streets, drive aisles, parking spaces etc) to fit your purchase decision. Rational purchase decisions are made factoring in whether the thing u buy β€œwill fit.” There should be simple, practical consequences when the thing you buy DOESN’T fit.

A gravel path with an arch of trees over it. In the distance are a man in a blue coat, and his dog.

Trees are good.

With binary slicing, or whatever it's called, it isn't necessary to watch a whole 10 hours of footage to identify when a bike was stolen: you'd only need to look at 10 frames of footage to get down to a minute of footage.

This reminds me that I MUST sort out my hybrid bike tomorrow or Wednesday, because the e-bike won't be available from Thursday.
The spoke protector is rattling: v annoying at speed. I'll try some blobs of silicon as a temporary fix.
And I'll have to set the gears up again because they're a mess.

What was the challenge?
(And what happens if you fail it? A webpage that says "you numpty, you failed the phishing test"?)

In many respects it is now: plodding up in the stream of tourists requires no technical climbing ability, just deep pockets.

I would really like to get one of the tote bags that fits inside the Basil panniers. It would make supermarket trips so easy, because everything would be packed in a bag that could just slide into the pannier.

The cravats. It must be the cravats.

The silly man clearly hasn't heard of cravats or kilts as an option for neck or legwear for men.

I think it all looks rather splendid.

They're lovely. Very robust. Available in plain colours or snazzy designs (see my profile pic for an example - mine are the extra large). Simple design - not much can go wrong with them.

I'm sorry if you're frustrated by your GP trying to look after you & reduce your chances of developing diabetes.
The schemes are to try and help people who are at risk. Obvs they don't suit everyone, but they work for a lot of ppl. You can choose to politely decline, or you can choose to be arsey.

Statins and testosterone supplementation have different effects depending on the person. Vitamin D is very reliably the same for everyone.

05.10.2025 10:55 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Because we know that if you've taken it then it will be absorbed and your Vitamin D levels will be fine again. There comes a point when it's been tested in so many people with the same results every time, that we know we can reliably not bother testing everyone.

05.10.2025 10:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's not a bad thing that they're checking every year. The whole point of it is to catch it early if it tips over into diabetes. A proportion of people do. Again, your physical activity will be helping prevent you developing diabetes.

05.10.2025 09:42 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

We don't routinely recheck Vit D levels after a booster dose. If you've taken it and are continuing to take your daily maintenance dose then you'll be fine.
