Like all those failed advisors (of all political hues) regularly trotted out by the media on their political talking shops, no doubt McSweeney will soon turn up on Politics Live & the like opining on why his former party is in such a mess having by then disowned his part in creating that mess.

Speaking from his £12million home in London having just returned from his country retreat in Wiltshire, Mandelson, dressed in an Armani suit & sporting a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, claimed he was not motivated by financial gain.

A couple of great pints was the prelude to a great performance by the excellent Don't Go Into The Cellar Theatre's performance of some of Charles Dickens's spooky stories promoted by @scripthavenltd.bsky.social bookshop in the appropriately atmospheric Worcester Old Palace.

Lovely pint of North Cotswold Brewery's Moreton Mild last night in the Plough in Worcester - a fab proper pub which always has a great selection of well kept beers and ciders available. I don't drink mild as often as I used to but it's great to have the option, especially when it's this good.

So much of this sleaze was in plain sight. When US Ambassador, Mandelson took Starmer for a photo opp at Palantir, a client of Global Counsel in which he had a huge stake. This was a monstrous conflict of interest and it was all public domain. Why did Starmer think it appropriate to go?

Judgement also seemed absent when Sir Keith decided to give a peerage to an ex New Labour MP to enable them to reboard the parliamentary gravy train, who had previously disgraced themselves by fiddling their expenses & by their own admission didn't therefore deserve a peerage.
