A picture of a person putting two bunches of dried ramen noodles into a pot of boiling water on a hot plate, with the caption “cook your ramen in organic water” across the bottom third in yellow script.
I’m sorry, organic what, now?

Doing a little light googling of the Spanish Flu and apparently "The United States lost more people to the Spanish flu in 1918 than World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War combined." and yet the only reason we call it the Spanish Flu is cause Spain admitted people were dying

Working in child welfare and in close proximity to police for 16 years made me a hard-core abolitionist. Carceral systems can not be decolonized, and diversity is just a strategy to gain access to marginalized communities.

Mask Mandates Have Kept One Cancer Center Free From COVID-19. Others Have Lifted Masking Requirement...
Some cancer centers have lifted mask mandates that were intended to protect patients from COVID-19, despite patient concerns.
City of Hope in Duarte, California, has maintained masking requirements, and this has prevented hospital-acquired COVID-19 there entirely, according to Vijay Trisal, MD, chief medical officer at City of Hope.
“Our policies enabled us to achieve zero nosocomial infections, zero outbreaks.”

Platforms are reluctant to admit that they are making editorial choices. I’ll put it this way: you don’t have to be a fancy spot with a dress code, but if people know it’s ok to shit on the floor in your establishment you’re going to get a lot of floor shitters and other customers will go elsewhere.

Closeup of a mosquito sucking blood from a human.
The Aedes japonicus mosquito continues to spread through Europe, now on the way to northern Europe and Sweden 🇸🇪
The hunt for the dreaded mosquito is intensifying in the southern part of the country as it can carry the West Nile virus. 🧪

the cover to a pamphlet sort of thing that says "hiring iowa teens" in the goofiest font imaginable, with a stock photo of kids posing from like 20 years ago
Iowa has this unbelievable new child labor law where bosses can now hire 16-year-olds for mining jobs, 15-year-olds on assembly lines, and 14-year-olds for work in meat coolers.
And the state labor department has now released this pamphlet. Swear to god this is real.

Why the CDC’s New Mask Guideline Proposal May Actually Imperil Frontline Workers
“The decisions some of these public health people are making are not getting better. They’re getting worse.”
This is asinine.
“Citing 13 different studies of laboratory-confirmed viral respiratory infections, a summary chart at the end of the presentation concludes there is ‘no difference between surgical masks & N95s in preventing respiratory infections.’”

A black cat with white paws lay down on an observation table. Someone with torquise gloves is petting the cat's head.
Here's what we know regarding the H5N1 bird flu outbreak in cats in Poland 🇵🇱
So far 16 cats have tested positive, with some being indoor cats. The number of infected cats + the wide geographical spread is something previously unseen. 🧪
