The Savannah Bananas are not trying to fix baseball. They're not trying to replace baseball. They're not trying to siphon fans off of baseball. They are creating an entertaining product that a lot of people love. You don't need to think about it on any deeper level than that.

For all the people trying to dunk on this story with snarky responses, the funny this is that no one is more clear-eyed than the Bananas themselves about the fact that they are producing a fully separate product, not a "better" version of baseball. Think David S. Pumpkins — it's "its own thing."
