Palestine is not a symbol. Not a metaphor. Not a trending topic. It is a land with a people who sing, grieve, love, and fight for a future they are told they do not deserve. And yet, they exist. And yet, they resist. And yet, they will win.

Cardiff: University confirms plans to cut 400 jobs
Vice-chancellor Wendy Larner says
I did my PhD at Cardiff’s School of Modern Languages. It’s full of clever, committed people producing wonderful research. It runs a terrific MFL outreach programme. It’s a friendly & inclusive space for students. It’s also currently the only place I get to teach.

Your work is extremely interesting to me personally and academically. While I’m exploring multisensory experiences in translation, most of the works in our field focus on visuals and sounds. I’m reading Huang (2023)’s Scent of China, but I’ll follow your work coming out of this thesis!

It’s a dark day for research in Aotearoa New Zealand and the ramifications for the country are huge. Minister Judith Collins has just announced our blue-skies funder will no longer fund humanities & social science research and that 50% of what is funded must have economic benefit.
