So here’s the thing: I, a certified Disabled™️ Person, do not actually care if anyone fakes for an extra 20 minutes on the test. I care deeply about how the fear of that very thing puts up flaming hoops disabled people have to jump through.

Maybe listen to disabled folk on this one.

1. are disabled.
2. went through the process themselves.
3. work in higher ed at all.
4. read ANY critical disability studies work at all? Like, any?

Not at all. There is no evidence of abuse in accommodations

But there’s absolutely no evidence that anyone is abusing the system.

Just give accommodations to everyone. It’s really not a big deal.

It’s actually sickening and just concern trolling as a guise to pass comment on other people’s bodies (which is the actual thing that exacerbates eating disorders).

And all the suckers will feel the need to share their sucker opinions about how, if only the trans person doing their job had done something differently*, they wouldn’t have to support the pitchfork-filled mob against them.

When I was teaching charter school (bad idea), I had to give up my lunch to do instruction for the students who wanted to learn because class time was spent keeping the desks from being thrown across the room.

And I was a girl who got dx’ed with ADHD at roughly the same time and that’s not the type of disruption I’m talking about.

Although, that type does also harm classmates; as I said, it pushed my niece out of public school because her teacher couldn’t teach, due to constant disruptions.

Girls who are sexually assaulted in schools are more likely to be de facto excluded from educational settings than the boys who do those assaults, and this is true from primary school through post graduate education.

I think there is a fundamental tension between protecting the rights of students to a public education and protecting students from other students (be it disruption, sexual violence, gun violence, etc) that is amplified by male privilege and the reluctance to hold boys accountable

Indeed. Public school is a totally different beast.

The public school probably had better academics than the private school they were doing this behavior at, and they would have learned that their actions had real consequences

the school in question had a great way to do this that doesn’t set anyone back or create a death spiral: have them pay $35k to another school or go to a local public school

Ok, so if you don’t know, why act like you have more insight on my experiences as a teacher in public and private schools than I do?

The school in question has no problem directing students with physical disabilities to other institutions, but made an effort to be conciliatory with violent boys.

This was a private independent school. If they were expelled, they could just have gone to another prep school and maybe learned that actions have consequences?

I don’t think it’s generality when I’m talking about specific boys, whom I can name.

If you want me to tutor you on this, I can for a reasonable fee.

So don’t say that it’s easier for girls to ask for help, especially since it’s not true!

Ok, so don’t talk about shit you don’t know about. Girls asking for help are regularly humiliated and barred from future opportunities.

So then why are you saying that the school curricula was changed to accommodate girls if that’s not considered to be an innate strength? If it’s socialized, couldn’t they just socialize the students to align with the current standards? Or socialize the boys to be better classmates?

Then you’ve never been a girl asking for help, because that is absolutely not true at all.

And yet, there are lower standards for admission for male students. Try again.

Also, find me a scholarship that only gives to female students and I’ll find 10 that, due to structural sexism, are de facto male only.

That’s a myth (gender essentialism), try again.
