She/her
β¦because she looks super hot in that picture?
03.12.2025 21:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So hereβs the thing: I, a certified Disabledβ’οΈ Person, do not actually care if anyone fakes for an extra 20 minutes on the test. I care deeply about how the fear of that very thing puts up flaming hoops disabled people have to jump through.
Maybe listen to disabled folk on this one.
okay, I have to wonder how many of the people declaring that disability accommodations have gone "too far":
1. are disabled.
2. went through the process themselves.
3. work in higher ed at all.
4. read ANY critical disability studies work at all? Like, any?
I think they did and your hostility to recognizing that reveals your decrepit soul.
03.12.2025 20:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I married a guy who split the check with me
03.12.2025 18:53 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can you identify who these people abusing the system are? What is your level of confidence in that identification? Why should I trust either your identification or confidence level?
03.12.2025 18:48 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0There was nothing the TA could have done to avoid this outcome. Stop being a sucker.
03.12.2025 18:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not at all. There is no evidence of abuse in accommodations
03.12.2025 15:53 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But thereβs absolutely no evidence that anyone is abusing the system.
03.12.2025 15:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just give accommodations to everyone. Itβs really not a big deal.
03.12.2025 15:42 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Is that why theyβre always wrong?
03.12.2025 14:46 β π 24 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs actually sickening and just concern trolling as a guise to pass comment on other peopleβs bodies (which is the actual thing that exacerbates eating disorders).
02.12.2025 21:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And all the suckers will feel the need to share their sucker opinions about how, if only the trans person doing their job had done something differently*, they wouldnβt have to support the pitchfork-filled mob against them.
*there is nothing they could have done differently to avoid this campaign
When I was teaching charter school (bad idea), I had to give up my lunch to do instruction for the students who wanted to learn because class time was spent keeping the desks from being thrown across the room.
02.12.2025 20:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And I was a girl who got dxβed with ADHD at roughly the same time and thatβs not the type of disruption Iβm talking about.
Although, that type does also harm classmates; as I said, it pushed my niece out of public school because her teacher couldnβt teach, due to constant disruptions.
Girls who are sexually assaulted in schools are more likely to be de facto excluded from educational settings than the boys who do those assaults, and this is true from primary school through post graduate education.
02.12.2025 19:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think there is a fundamental tension between protecting the rights of students to a public education and protecting students from other students (be it disruption, sexual violence, gun violence, etc) that is amplified by male privilege and the reluctance to hold boys accountable
02.12.2025 19:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Indeed. Public school is a totally different beast.
02.12.2025 19:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The public school probably had better academics than the private school they were doing this behavior at, and they would have learned that their actions had real consequences
02.12.2025 19:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is the phrase Iβm reacting to:
βwe only know how to do that in ways that set them further back and create a death spiralβ
the school in question had a great way to do this that doesnβt set anyone back or create a death spiral: have them pay $35k to another school or go to a local public school
It drives me bananas when people assert that a famous womanβs body caused them to have an eating disorder. Itβs been happening a lot lately
02.12.2025 19:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ok, so if you donβt know, why act like you have more insight on my experiences as a teacher in public and private schools than I do?
The school in question has no problem directing students with physical disabilities to other institutions, but made an effort to be conciliatory with violent boys.
This was a private independent school. If they were expelled, they could just have gone to another prep school and maybe learned that actions have consequences?
02.12.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt think itβs generality when Iβm talking about specific boys, whom I can name.
If you want me to tutor you on this, I can for a reasonable fee.
So donβt say that itβs easier for girls to ask for help, especially since itβs not true!
02.12.2025 18:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ok, so donβt talk about shit you donβt know about. Girls asking for help are regularly humiliated and barred from future opportunities.
02.12.2025 18:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So then why are you saying that the school curricula was changed to accommodate girls if thatβs not considered to be an innate strength? If itβs socialized, couldnβt they just socialize the students to align with the current standards? Or socialize the boys to be better classmates?
02.12.2025 18:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Then youβve never been a girl asking for help, because that is absolutely not true at all.
02.12.2025 18:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And yet, there are lower standards for admission for male students. Try again.
Also, find me a scholarship that only gives to female students and Iβll find 10 that, due to structural sexism, are de facto male only.
Thatβs a myth (gender essentialism), try again.
