Been quite a long time since I last used Unity to compare the old build of Marble Game with the Godot version. And since Unity constantly forgets my license credentials I think it's about time to get rid of it. I wanna say I miss the engine, but at this point: Open Source or get the fuck out!

So far nobody has said anything NEGATIVE about the sounds in the game. So either this actually is good (I really can't judge it right now) OR people just try not to hurt my feelings which in the end won't be helpful. 🤣

Alright.... yea. I am gonna get myself an 8BitDo Pro 3. I can't lie, I want those new sticks. That'll also make me less scared of refurbing my older pads. They're all due for new button mats and maybe I can find some new TMR/Hall sticks for them along the way, too.

I call it a Marble Machine Sandbox. Lotsa pieces to build with, some procedural ones. I hope folks will like it. :)

As said, I know this may still require some work, but I spent so much time iterating and adjusting, I need to take a step back, play the game such as it is and slowly get a sense how I really feel about the current setup.

That reminds me of the time when I made a M.D. Geist AMV with KMFDM's Risen.... I wish I still had that file around.

Expanse books are the last books I ever ordered from Amazon. Just started BABYLON'S ASHES and discovered some nasty creases on the first few pages. Wouldn't return it even if I still could - not really a big deal - but fucking spotty for a company which once mainly sold books.

Turns out @kenney.nl has some awesome impact sounds that are much better than anything I recorded and with some pitch shifting, they'll be perfect for Marble Game.

Also gonna keep "musical impact sounds" as an option. I added support for that for prototyping already. Might as well keep it.

In GDScript/Godot, you can't just make a typed dictionary with nested types. Like a Dictionary with an enum key and a typed array or custom class as value.
But if you throw your array into a custom resource class, it totally works.

There's sharing and there's over-sharing!

Sometimes folks go "aren't you a bit babbling too much on social media?" and I'm like bitch I am the embodiment of self-restraint. If I'd just babble without a filter, I'd be driven out with pitchforks and torches.

And yeah of course I can migrate. And if I manage to fix my existing phone in a day, no harm. But I like to prepare for things not working smoothly. And here I can't. Maybe I should just buy a new phone and use it as a business expense cause that business forces me to do this crap.

One of those is a bank indeed. The other is on a similar level of importance. And both now rely on my phone that hasn't received updates since 2023. Which I could fix by installing LineageOS or something similar, but of course that may mean downtime. OR I just buy a new phone and migrate.

It's nice when you can do that. It's just for the two services I really feel I want 2FA, those use their own proprietary solutions and they are super locked down. Not even arguing all the downsides of that, but just that I can't say "let me use a password for a week until I fix my phone" is shit

So in a lot of ways, I got a lot of services now that whenever something bad happens, they can confidently say it was my fault instead of helping me to recover an account. Convenient.

And if my phone ever dies, I lose access to some essential stuff cause I can't turn 2FA off for those. Awesome.

Redundant security is a good thing of course.
But yeah, it's often an excuse to turn the consequences of a leak over to the user.

And mobile auth apps: fuck that. I got an essential application I may need every day. And I cannot login without my phone which is in desperate need of an update.
