It would be better to unlink electricity price from gas and have variable tariffs based on actual cost of production at the time, so when the wind is high we're encouraged to use that sweet renewable energy (and charge home batteries, EVs, etc).

I’m not a great political analyst, but I do feel Labour have made a tactical error by opting to be cunts.

Of course it is - trusts are having to find massive savings and many have a hiring freeze so aren't even replacing staff that are leaving never mind filling outstanding vacancies. Staff morale is through the floor and stress is endemic leading to sickness absence and accelerated loss of staff.
