Gifted programs are usually just institutionally supported resource hoarding programs. It's why families throw everything at attempts to make them more equitable and accessible. The credential is far more important than what is learned in the classes.

The conservative legal movement has carved out exemptions from laws based on personal conscience. What ought to be *privately* held is now forced onto the public and given deference. We all knew how this would end: erosion of minority rights under the guise of freedom, religious or otherwise

And I truly don't want to waste time fielding "concerns" when the concerns are just the consequence of a concerted moral panic manufactured by the right. We either defend trans people because it's the *right thing to do*, or we let the right lead the discussion and all policy

This is why Democrats conceding ground on trans rights as "policy fixes" were never tenable. Tinkering toward a "middle ground" when one side doesn't think the people under discussion *exist*, let alone deserve rights, got us into this mess. The left needs to defend trans people, no questions

It's why trans rights is the canary in the coal mine. In spite of what people like Andrew Sullivan think, being a "good gay" was never an option. Conservatives don't think trans people *exist*; they don't think LGBTQ+ people deserve *rights*. Trans people just let them move the overton window

Almost like he's hoping to get a bunch of conservative think tanks to buy his book en masse and be invited to speak

Whether you supported Trump because he was going to expose the deep state pedophiles or because he was going to lower prices or because he was going to make IVF available, he really wants you to know you are a unbelievable mark and he’s going to hit you up again.
