The ground creeps up through my feet. I walk through the forest and feel like I'm more of a creature than a human, some kind of slow moving force that is half leaves and dirt, and half vibrating, nameless, energy. Am I like the plants, taking in sunlight and churning it into lifeforce?

I'm making this post so I can post to the bird feed here! Birds are a common subject of my art. I love bird watching out my front door. #addBirder

Here's an illustrated of mine, acrylic paint on canvas. It represents deep rest, and our dreaming that leads to knowing, knowing that we are led toward what brings us alive without effort, toward that which heals what is broken, with the love we have already living inside of us. ❤️

Art is a way that we heal. It's a way that we awaken the part of us that trusts and needs no words. It's food for our brain, that is so tired and needs something else to take the reigns. We let our deeply intuitive soul guide us without obstacle to what we love, to what we enjoy. ❤️

If you are in the Asheville, NC area, come to the Marquee tonight! It's a resurrection of many artists after our hurricane. It's completely rebuilt. Im excited. I'll have a piece hanging. The resiliency and community effort has been amazing to watch, i can't wait to be there!

Away from the severing, returning to our nature as natural organic beings. We can still include the modernity in this unfurling, but as we uncondition, and trust, we can use it toward the gentleness of nature.

I've been thinking lately about how so much of our conditioning leads us to sever our ties to the ground, to try and forget how rich and musical we are, how we are like plants, unfurling toward the sun, seeking to bask in aliveness and what is holy and true. It's a whole reversal, healing is.

How does stillness happen for you? Do you find yourself able to do nothing in a way that feels nourishing? How do you handle all the information and stimulation? Painting is one of my medicines. Here's one of my paintings called Night Flowers.
