However, I am also seeing a few white people lecture marginalized people about jokes (particularly Black people) and that is even more off putting tbh, particularly considering bigotry and discrimination towards actual people still very much exists

One more thing. Is it off putting when a white person is making AI jokes that are not so subtly referencing bigotry, particularly antiblackness? Yes, and they should knock it off because they don’t have the understanding of that specific type of bigotry

After looking over various people (many who I do like) who are arguing about whether or not structuring jokes about “robot slurs” as proof that white people are just finding new ways to be racist, I personally think we all need to stop and put our phones down, starting with me.
