09.02.2026 10:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Looking forward to seeing how this one progresses Stef.
09.02.2026 09:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks Matthew. I know what you mean - itβs a delicate balance isnβt it. I purposely didnβt pay too much attention to the running gear as I knew it was going to get some mud.
09.02.2026 08:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cheers Rich π
Youβre not wrong. Iβm ok with CA during the build as I can largely clean up any mess, but itβs a royal pain if Iβm trying to attach parts after painting. I suddenly get all cack-handed, and it refuses to hold π
Thanks as always mate π
08.02.2026 20:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks Tim. I tried Mig Ultra to hold the spare track links but it wasnβt too successful (I was perhaps a bit impatient). I have every flavour of VMS glue, which I generally swear by, but they let me down on this occasion. I might have to give some UV setting glue a try, Iβve heard it works well.
08.02.2026 20:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Cheers Stef, youβre very kind
08.02.2026 19:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Progress on the Churchill, weathering next to tie it all together. Iβve never had so many issues with superglue not holding though, I had tools and spare track links just pop off multiple times, regardless of which glue I used. Absolutely infuriating π€¬

Very nice π
30.01.2026 18:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks Ianβ¦ donβt remind me about the wheels, Iβve not even started them yet. Churchill wheels might be numerous, but at least theyβre small. And you canβt really see the rear sprocket.
26.01.2026 09:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you Tim
26.01.2026 07:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks Dave π
25.01.2026 21:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks Matthew, much appreciated π
25.01.2026 21:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you π
25.01.2026 21:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cheers Paul π

25.01.2026 20:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I started this Churchill back in August as part of a GB on Britmodeller (thanks @stefjn.bsky.social) but missed the Oct deadline.
I love a pin-washed finish, but flippinβ heck, thereβs a lot to pin-wash on a Churchill. Looking forward to doing some OPR next.

Great work Paul
30.12.2025 21:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It was sound advice
30.12.2025 20:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow, thanks Fazβ¦ I feel genuinely honoured to be in such esteemed company π
30.12.2025 19:33 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What a fantastic collection. Itβs a tough choice, but the Churchill AVRE is the standout for me, itβs just superb Stef π
29.12.2025 15:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Same Matt. Iβve done the Kindle equivalent of shelving a history book that was recommended by a podcast when it came out. The subject really appeals to me, but the writing and editing both leave a lot to be desired. I feel I should struggle through, but sometimes, life is just too short.
11.12.2025 08:23 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I love the layered tones and textures
23.11.2025 18:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That looks perfect Stef πππ
23.11.2025 18:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve found a 2 inch wooden base that I must have bought around the same time, so will probably pop him on that with some simple groundwork.
23.11.2025 09:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cheers Stef. Luckily, I invested in a bunch of Hornet figures back in the 90s but was never felt able to do them justice so theyβve sat in a drawer for the 30 odd years.
23.11.2025 08:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks Kevin π
23.11.2025 08:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cheers Paul π
22.11.2025 17:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks Matthewβ¦ he also looks absolutely knackered π
22.11.2025 17:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Having really enjoyed painting the figures for my LRDG Patrol Truck, I thought Iβd revisit my old collection of Hornet figures, starting with this fella. Roger Saundersβ sculpting is still peerless.
I need to get better at painting eyes, but I had a lot of fun.
