This is a bit old, but my arm is on strike. I did a contour line drawing of my hand, painted it with rough brush strokes, then used those brush strokes as a template for form/volume. It reflects my feelings on my disease(s), contortions, and pain. #disability #disabilityart

The only way to heal a bone spur is to lie about having them in the first place, in the same way that regrowing an ear is possible if it wasn’t shot off. A real medical miracle this dude is.

Disabled people are often canaries in coal mine - anything that will harm or impact others tends to hit us harder & faster (climate issues, healthcare cuts, medication & supply chain issues)

Depending on others for survival is precarious

I found out recently that the reason they didn’t know what was wrong with me is because what I have is extremely rare in men, but more common in women. They didn’t research women, so they didn’t know.

I spent the first six years of my life in and out of the hospital for “she’s really sick, but ???”. At 7, I told my mom that my joints hurt, and she told me I was lying. That “lie” almost killed me bc of how much I internalized that misogyny. She’s a nurse. It’s THAT ingrained.

Many years ago, I learned (on npr, oddly) that you should demand proof that the debt is theirs to legally collect on, and you won’t pay it until they do. They almost never produce evidence, due to paperwork lost in the bundling and delivery process. They tend to disappear.

This is the real life damage this bozo causes. Keep fighting the good fight.

I have hundreds of bone spurs from head to toe (spondyloarthritis). You don’t recover from them. They don’t go away. The surgery to remove them is excruciating. I hate that this man used my disability as an excuse, because people say “he’s up and walking, why aren’t you?”.

I’m on a dmard, a biologic and methotrexate. It’s been nice knowing y’all.
