The Home Secretary says “This isn’t about Palestine.”

But everyone can see the truth.

They’re arming a genocide and criminalising those who speak out.

This is how fascism begins.

We must stand up. For Palestine. For all our rights. For democracy.

Yes, more people could potentially work with the right job, the right employer, and the right adjustments/support.

But many still won't be able to. This is just a fact.

And actually it's cruel to have someone work, if it would mean they don't have any capacity left to live.

This twisted version of “free speech” was introduced by the conservative right.

They KNOW that people who go to university are more likely to be left-wing, so they’re trying to put their thumb on the scale to push their ideological & political beliefs onto young students! 😣😤

Sheep are destroying precious British habitats – and we taxpayers are footing the bill | Chris Packham Large parts of Dartmoor have been denuded of wildlife, harmed by farming and a mess of government schemes that are costly in every way, says naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham

0.1% of Dartmoor in good ecological condition. And each Dartmoor ewe loses its owner £16.90 – the ecological and economic craziness of the current sheep grazing regime well explained by @chrisgpackham.bsky.social. Why are the wealthy so well off? The accumulation of wealth has been driving inequality for decades. In the first of two articles we explain the injustice of our wealth taxation

The rich don’t get rich by working harder. They get rich because the tax system is designed to reward wealth, not work.

This article explains how – and what we could do instead.

Based on a blog post by Prof Richard Murphy.

Guess who the tax system is really supporting In this second article on wealth accumulation, we explain who our tax system really supports

"As the table shows, the answer is, mostly to the richest.

The people in the top decile receive 40% of all the pension relief, a third of the relief on the sale of domestic properties, and half of the ISA relief."

Labour rifling through the Conservatives failed anti-asylum policies and saying "let's have some of that, but more expensive".
We could be investing in communities to support everyone, instead we have a government wasting millions on performative cruelty. #r4today

Everyone who says “We’re in debt and it isn’t sustainable”, is actually proving Capitalism is the real unsustainable thing.

We have all the resources needed to help and support everyone… yet it’s our own system that we created that prevents it.

BILL BURR: “There’s nothing wrong with being a billionaire, but if someone’s working 40 hours/week and can’t make rent you’re not paying them enough… maybe you should just be worth $900 Million. How do you take an 8 figure bonus and none of your employees have dental insurance?”

August 1989 I started as a Dr #NHS a lot has changed in that time

It isn’t easier, the more treatments/options you have the more complex care has become

GP for 30ys & the role is more difficult now than it ever was

The last 4yrs I’ve tried highlight the data - started with this video👇🏻

In the 1990s management consultants assessed that empty beds cost £ & so beds were cut

Despite the fact that they cost nothing & created capacity for operations, admissions and discharges

So here we are not enough beds, delayed operations, A&E blocked

#NHS is not a business

Disabled people constantly have to deal with huge levels of cruelty.
Cruelty from the benefits system.
Cruelty from the Government.
Cruelty from society.
And cruelty from our symptoms.

What the Media Isn’t Telling You: Why Universal Basic Income Is the Answer to Poverty, Insecurity, and Inequality Why Universal Basic Income can solve poverty, insecurity, and inequality—and why opponents fear its power to shift our economy.

As promised, here are all the answers I wrote to all the questions that a journalist recently asked me about Universal Basic Income, none of which ended up being published by them.

So I saw this last night and it was excellent but you know for a FACT Nye Bevan would not have got his NHS bill approved by the Labour cabinet of 2025. A few wry groans from the audience as he talked about his vision for the NHS including glasses and dental care for everyone!

Against the recommendation of the Women and Equalities Commision, Labours Bridget Phillipson has confirmed Dr. Mary-Ann Stephenson as the new chair of the EHRC.

She deleted her account here once we all noted her following list was full of transphobes.

The EHRC is ignoring trans voices Leaked documents confirm that the EHRC is planning to ignore 50% of the consultation submission.

We think, in the EHRC's haste to embed its anti trans agenda, it is breaching its legal obligations conscientiously to consider consultation responses - and we expect to sue. goodlawproject.org/the-ehrc-is-...

Great Britain National Insurance Fund Account for the year ended 31 March 2024

The National Insurance Fund Account has a surplus of £86.4bn.

Plenty of resources to increase pensions, benefits, compensate the 1950s women.

Govts raided it to fund NIC cuts for the rich, NIC holidays in freeports, and general tax cuts for the rich.

Once again and as always, “but they have underlying conditions” is a way to excuse the deaths of people we should be caring for so you don’t have to care.

Is the Timms Review of disability benefit PIP just a tick-box exercise? Mikey Erhardt at Disability Rights UK writes about why the Stephen Timms review of PIP cannot be used as a smokescreen for cuts.

"Our good faith must not be held against us. Our involvement in the process will not automatically lead to our endorsement and support for any specific policy. Only then will this review be worth more than the paper it is written on."

What My Hysterectomy Taught Me About Bodily Autonomy and Misogyny We are more than our wombs and more than our ability to bear children. Yet our health and lives often come second to hypothetical men and babies. We need reproductive freedom now.

When I was 19, I was diagnosed with endometriosis & adenomyosis

What followed was years of suffering & total disability

Doctors refused to remove my uterus because I might “meet a man who wants kids”

They forced me to keep a diseased organ that was ruining my life, because of a hypothetical man

We stand by what we’ve said: the EHRC guidance is transphobic, against the law, and must be stopped before it causes more harm

While the legal process carries on, people suffer the consequences every day. But we’re ready to fight the case in November with everything we’ve got
