How many biological children did Jeffrey Epstein have, if any? That's the question I can't seem to find an answer to in all the rigorous reporting about his interest in eugenics, genetic testing/editing, and passing on his own DNA.

Based on the Barnaby email it sounds like a speaker or panel list ("need to add some which can liven up an audience"). Every name on the list is unredacted save one: a person whose field is "Innovation Tech" and first name is somewhere between Lewis and Marcus, alphabetically.

There are versions of this doc that don't mention the exclusion of Asian names, but this seems to be the most 'complete' version of the doc.

Apparently Epstein or someone he was working with wanted a blue-eyed white person for some role at 92nd St Y.

The racist part is an attachment (not sure if it's part of the same email) which lists all those names in a table along with their eye color, specifically counting those with blue eyes. The doc makes clear that this list excludes Asians.

One weird and racist thing that I couldn't figure out from the Epstein files: on Dec 22, 2014, philanthropy advisor Barnaby Marsh emailed Epstein a list of "potential names" for 92nd Street Y, a well-known community center in NYC. No idea what the names were for.

It's the men's own fault that they looked past all the red flags and warning signs. In many cases they were eager to do so because Epstein flattered them and told them everything they believed about themselves

Part of this I think is Epstein's fetishization of the Great Men of Science ideal: he explicitly sought out people who he thought to be the smartest or best in their field, who coincidentally were a lot like him: middle-aged, white, male, hungry for influence/money/connections.

They are background characters to the main character in Epstein’s world, but I don’t want to downplay their agentic role in academia where they can gatekeep their little fiefdoms and push people out through teaching, advising, paper and grant reviewing, committee work/nonwork and hiring…
