That end of the house always felt light and airy - but the hallway to the bedrooms/lav always felt dark in comparison

For now, pedestrians can still squeeze by between the curb and fence

Youβd think that the least the city could do when they re-direct pedestrians across the street is to provide a safe way for them to cross

I expect that summertime weather like this has become the new normal
Thereβs an opportunity lot re-fill at the new facilities at Westboro Beach
But the city is *way* behind the curve
Every intersection where drivers can make a right turn across the bike lane is an adventure
Adding cycling infrastructure is supposed to take some of the anxiety out of riding in an urban area
This is, arguably, some of the most dangerous cycling infrastructure in the city

But after about an hour, the water in our bottles was about as refreshing as a golden πΏ

The city only using data on the number of people hit/injured/killed means they are missing the elephant in the room: the number of pedestrians/cyclists who avoid injury/death by luck and/or a very loud shout
The flatter (and higher) the front, the more debilitating the injuries - regardless of speed

10.08.2025 17:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hate to break it to you, but with respect to the policing of traffic in downtown Ottawa, itβs already a failure
Opaque license plate covers and overly-tinted front side window glass should be low-hanging fruit for enforcement, but the police just donβt seem to care about that stuff anymore
Eliminating RToR needs to be the first step in downtown Ottawa
Also need to:
- limit heavy transport truck operations (especially Elgin)
- add pedestrian scramble at specific intersections (Somerset/Elgin, Somerset/Bank)
- crosswalks at every intersection on Bank and Elgin
- universal 30 kph limit
Itβs signed that way through much of downtown #Autowa
Based on driver behaviour, compliance seems to be optional
