10.11.2025 02:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not bad when you pump heat from the ground below. Solar could be good, too, either concentrated or with solar panels. Passive roofs are great too, like on covered bridges of snowy northeast. Salt only seems cheap because we ignore the cost of all the corrosion, and of ruining the soil and water.
09.11.2025 23:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Here's a tip: Have teens hang up every piece of hockey equipment to air dry completely after every game/practice. Yes, it smells pretty foul like that. But the alternative, leaving it in the bag, is so disgusting you'll need a flame thrower and a whole new kit after dumping the ashes of the old one.
09.11.2025 00:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is so frustrating. We live in a freshwater environment. That much salt is toxic to life here. The salt is not even just salt it is laced with all kinds of contamination. Years ago we didn't use it. When we started we didn't know it was harmful. Now we know, but use more than ever. More each year.
08.11.2025 18:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did women ruin... everything? I am sure everyone will agree that humanity was doing just fine until... there were women.
08.11.2025 18:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So you refuse to decline? Or are you saying that you decline to refuse to decline?
08.11.2025 14:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Is there no roof because that would be too expensive to build, or because it would block views of the field from the new condos that will go up, and so lower their sale price? If it is the former, I guess Ottawa will pay again to add it in a future reno. If the latter, there may never be a roof.

08.11.2025 01:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The city is charging a hotel stay tax to pay for part of Landsdowne 2.0 with the reasoning that events held there will increase the number of tourists staying in hotels. Maybe this same new tax could be used to provide housing and help to homeless people. That is equally likely to encourage tourism.

07.11.2025 01:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Any idea where the Great Blue Heron from around here go? Florida maybe? We saw them through the summer, but I haven't seen one in well over a month.
07.11.2025 01:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Still out and about! When is bedtime for bears these days? It must be just about time to curl up in a good den.
07.11.2025 01:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Easy. Poor Youppi. It would be Bonhomme in the Palais with ceinture flΓ©chΓ©e.
06.11.2025 00:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Huh, would have thought the "chier" was only available in QuΓ©bec... And then shouldn't it be a McChier? Something's off on that menu.
06.11.2025 00:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Statue of Liberty stands up just a little bit taller, glances back at poor huddled masses.
05.11.2025 17:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For councillors voting for Landsdowne, how bad would it have to be to vote against? Going 9800 seats to 5500 is okay - how about 2500? No roof is okay - how about no seats? PVC instead of a park is okay - how about a dump? Public housing funds for private parking is okay - how about hospital funds?
04.11.2025 13:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's just how you feel. You are powerful. Keep going.
03.11.2025 17:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is incredibly realistic, but I was thinking something was just a little off. I thought about it for a long time, but couldn't put my finger on it. Then suddenly it hit me: the color of the feet is off! Good work, though, little details like that are almost impossible to get exactly right.
02.11.2025 21:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You should hack that sign so that it switches back and forth between "Do not bounce your basketball" and "Bounce your basketball!". Way more fun!
02.11.2025 14:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"Parts are not available" for LEDs is nonsense. The exact original parts may no longer be, but the same or better functionality will be available. You do need an engineer or the artist to sort it out, and that would cost money. "Respectfully decommissioning" sounds a bit like "truthfully lying".
02.11.2025 14:24 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not an archaeologist but ... didn't Roman sculptures originally depict "virility"? And then didn't Europeans eventually get uncomfortable with so much virility on display that they added leaves later? If so, it is more a symbol of bashfulness.
02.11.2025 00:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0When they sing the US national anthem at the beginning of sports events, they should change the line about it being "the land of the free". It just doesn't seem that is what it is these days. Maybe "the land to be free"? It is still the home of many brave people. I hope things get better for them.

01.11.2025 16:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Interesting. Have you tried this? Is the flash bright enough to use as a flashlight? Like in a cave, for example.

30.10.2025 16:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It would be good to have an emergency mental health unit dispatched to the location of whoever made that call, because they have to be seriously unhinged to think like that, and who knows who they might harm, including themselves.
30.10.2025 15:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It used to be limited by the Illumination technology. But with present-day LED and laser technology, permanently blinding light intensities are easy to reach if you want them. I don't know if regulators care at all. Car makers don't seem to... Nothing much seems to be enforced either.
30.10.2025 14:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't think it is stupidity. I'd say it is more that they don't mind or really care if anyone, including their own people, suffer if they themselves could benefit as a result.
