It is so frustrating. We live in a freshwater environment. That much salt is toxic to life here. The salt is not even just salt it is laced with all kinds of contamination. The city is charging a hotel stay tax to pay for part of Landsdowne 2.0 with the reasoning that events held there will increase the number of tourists staying in hotels. Maybe this same new tax could be used to provide housing and help to homeless people. That is equally likely to encourage tourism.

For councillors voting for Landsdowne, how bad would it have to be to vote against? Going 9800 seats to 5500 is okay - how about 2500? No roof is okay - how about no seats? PVC instead of a park is okay - how about a dump? Public housing funds for private parking is okay - how about hospital funds?

It is incredibly realistic, but I was thinking something was just a little off. I thought about it for a long time, but couldn't put my finger on it. Then suddenly it hit me: the color of the feet is off! Good work, though, little details like that are almost impossible to get exactly right.

You should hack that sign so that it switches back and forth between "Do not bounce your basketball" and "Bounce your basketball!". Way more fun!

"Parts are not available" for LEDs is nonsense. The exact original parts may no longer be, but the same or better functionality will be available. You do need an engineer or the artist to sort it out, and that would cost money. "Respectfully decommissioning" sounds a bit like "truthfully lying".

Not an archaeologist but ... didn't Roman sculptures originally depict "virility"? And then didn't Europeans eventually get uncomfortable with so much virility on display that they added leaves later? If so, it is more a symbol of bashfulness.

When they sing the US national anthem at the beginning of sports events, they should change the line about it being "the land of the free". It just doesn't seem that is what it is these days. Maybe "the land to be free"? It is still the home of many brave people. I hope things get better for them.

It would be good to have an emergency mental health unit dispatched to the location of whoever made that call, because they have to be seriously unhinged to think like that, and who knows who they might harm, including themselves.

It used to be limited by the Illumination technology. But with present-day LED and laser technology, permanently blinding light intensities are easy to reach if you want them. I don't know if regulators care at all. Car makers don't seem to... Nothing much seems to be enforced either.

I don't think it is stupidity. I'd say it is more that they don't mind or really care if anyone, including their own people, suffer if they themselves could benefit as a result.
