And also that you're pissin' the night away.
The band of sparkling lights is called a "scintillating scotoma" btw. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scintil...
08.12.2024 08:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anyway now I know how so many people operate on so little sleep, when (unmedicated) sleep deprivation literally makes me feel so bad I can't eat.
08.12.2024 08:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Of course, I said, everyone does! No, he replied, that's a migraine. WHAT? THAT'S NOT NORMAL?
Now that I have medication, I still can't get over the fact that "tired" and "splitting headache" aren't synonyms for most people!
A couple years ago, I was diagnosed by a neurologist with migraine syndrome after a bout of confusion and difficulty speaking, along with a visual band of sparkling lights. The thing that really blew my mind (pun!) was that he asked if I got headaches without being sick, just from fatigue or stress.

03.12.2024 22:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Denmark is a great country to visit, and especially so for Americans new to international travel. Everyone can speak English, breakfast and dinner times and sizes are what you'd expect at home, it's easy to get anywhere on public transit, but you still get the experience of a very old intact culture

They run them bc people react to them the most.
If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
Itβs not easy and takes constant practice!
I miss RSS. I miss finding long-form content without receiving an email.
23.11.2024 12:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, stances are ethical.
But if we want change, ethical stances must have power. That is political.
One can be right and criticize others who arenβt, sure. And that is important. But then what? How do we flourish? We need to help the right thing win, and good people build. Electoral or not
Baby your heart rate's up. Have you been having imaginary arguments with your coworkers about Elon Musk again?
