I made a website in 2013 after being detained at a US land border for hours without any recourse. I was in a tiny cell, with one toilet in a separate space where up to four guards could watch me use it. I was released a few hours later, without any additional information, but I didn't need any.

I hope everyone feels reinvigorated after visiting GDC & I hope for next year you make the fact that so many can't afford, can't safely go, or otherwise are blocked from the feelings & support you're now feeling a consideration in supporting one of the most exclusionary events in games next year.

GDC Europe needs to make a comeback at this point.. or even better, a GDC somewhere safer AND a remote option

If GDC wants to present itself as being an inclusive space, it has to move. There's no negotiating. They either move, or they continue to put their attendees in danger.

Sorry but it’s insane to me that GDC is still held in a place where attendees have to be warned about getting disappeared at the airport.

My partner is unfortunately affected by the latest round of layoffs in games, so I'll likely be back in the job market around September, when the baby can be in childcare. Wish us luck, we'll need it :/

If the used car market for them is huge/cheap and full of young cars, then new sales will be harmed by people going for a used one instead, I think would be the main impact.

Basically the opposite of new car prices going up during the pandemic bc there were so few affordable used ones available

I'm playing FireRed on an actual Gameboy SP and once I have two hands and access to a computer again I'm anxious to write long form about how strangely soothing it is to play on a console with no modern features again. I expected it to frustrate me and it didn't!

What's everyone playing these days? I haven't followed games in months and don't know what I'm missing.
