Sigh. I haven't started the new season yet, but I've been nervous since the last season seemed weirdly trying to break apart any pairings with chemistry. Ortegas/Chapel, Spock/any male character, La'an/#1. Even M'Benga/Chapel, which is het but is also interracial. This feels so backwards for Trek.

Who Was Syril Karn? The question of who Andor's impressionable antagonist was has been one of the series' driving theses about how the Empire subsumes people.

I need someone to write about how the Dedra/Syril and Bix/Cassian relationships are mirrors of one another and how it structures season 2 of #Andor. Where love and freedom are not possible under fascism.

She was referenced in one of the Bix/Cassian scenes, where Bix was admonishing him over his protectiveness. Personally, I just read the trauma as a character motivation. Indigenous people with similar losses in life haven't found resolution. Imho I don't think it should be resolved.
