They need to go to a route numbering system. F1 through F whatever.

It’s a scheduling strategy called fleeting the line. It’s an efficient way to run multiple stopping patterns on a single track.

*Buses* are one way to address geographic equity, regardless of whether or not they’re free. Affordability is also an important equity measure, but that also can be addressed without free fares for all.

Framing fare-free buses as the best/only way to improve equitable outcomes is disingenuous.

During the NJT strike Amtrak was only operating manned doors to prevent unticketed passengers from boarding. Made things worse for their own riders.

Do they have to operate trap doors for low platforms? Still seems like one conductor could handle a pair of doors.

Can confirm, nearly a third of seats are typically empty even on a packed train. More people could sit if they went 2x2.

That’s not a useful place for the class of service to be labeled.
