Really enjoyed Friday tackling Helvellyn from Glenridding along Striding Edge descending via Swirral Edge and Catstye Cam. Went early so no one in front (so no clues and a few dicey choices as a result!)

Reminds me of Primo Levi’s onion in the varnish;where onion slices were added to varnish manufacturing for apparently no reason. The process was so old that it predated thermometers by a couple of hundred years at least so the onion was there to indicate temperature but nobody knew the origin.
