Hey #academicsky, my students wanted more information about how long it takes to mark their stuff so I built this joereddington.com/2025/01/10/h... - what have I missed? Is that about the right amount of time to read 1,000 words? How long can you mark essays for in one day?

This is a fantastic tool. If not just for students’ situational awareness of how labor-intensive the grading process is, then definitely for my own, as I tend to downplay how much time and effort it will take.

Also, I feel like your 1,000-word reading time is pretty realistic.
