I always find it funny when republicans talk about cost of living in blue states.

Houses are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

Cost of living is higher in blue states because people actually want to live there.

I’ve been a shell of myself the last month. Living in Minnesota and the weight of everything happening has been too much.

I took Mon-Wed off work to get myself back on track. I hope to resume my resolution of doing something for myself everyday in March.

For now, here’s some goals for this week

I live 40 minutes outside Minneapolis.

Our elementary school now has a video doorbell for the after school program pick up.

You know. So the government doesn’t kidnap children.

Day 27

Today I cried. One of those bone deep, can’t breathe, hands shaking cries.

Don’t let anyone tell you that crying isn’t self care.

Nothing like having a complete breakdown in the middle of the day.

I knew this day would eventually come with my family but I just feel so alone

Day 26:

Finished my binge watch of Dawson’s Creek

Oh boy do I have thoughts as a first time watcher.

I’ve never been prouder to be a Minnesotan.

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Day 25:

Read before hockey this morning.

*finished my book 🎉

Day 24

The government murdered another person in my state today. This all seems silly now. What’s even the point?

Anyway. Read before bed

7 yr old: I have such a rich family

Me: what do you mean?

7: you make me good food. Dad plays with me.

Me: rich on love

7: exactly

We had 7 am hockey, 9 am basketball, followed by our Bi-weekly grocery shop.

I wasn’t online until about 12:30.

I’ve just been in shock the last two hours.

This is my home. This is my kids’ home.

Day 23

Ended my night with a bath bomb and hot chocolate

3 yr old getting comfortable in bed with his stuffed Eevee: “I love you”

Me turning off the lights: “I love yo, too”

3: “No. I love you, Eevee”

Day 22

Made myself an actual breakfast before work (eggs, toast, fruit)

I need to get back to reading but it’s been a heavy few weeks here in Minnesota. It’s really starting to weigh me down.

Watched 2 episodes of a show I’m trying to catch up on

My parents always told me to treat people the way I want to be treated. But I think we should treat people the way they want to be treated.

So please, when you write stories about the VP, you need to respect his birth name and refer to him as James Bowman.

10 day forecast with lows ranging from -22 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit (actual temperature) and highs ranging from -9 to 29 degrees Fahrenheit (actual temperature).

People don’t live in Minnesota for the weather.

We live here for the community. This isn’t a state for the weak of heart and I think the whole world is seeing just that.

Pretty sure the US military is going to be here before Tuesday.

My guess is MLK day so he can make that day about himself.

How do you explain to a 7 yr old that the “President” of her own country is waging war on her state?

I’ve never been more proud to be a Minnesotan and less proud to be an American than right now.
