Government confirms Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson as the next EHRC chair Minister for Women and Equalities Bridget Phillipson has confirmed that Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson will be appointed as the new Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

So the government really are just targeting trans people now.

The board rejected her appointment because of her obvious bias against trans people & connection to anti-trans organisations.

This makes a mockery of the whole idea of the EHRC.

I have zero confidence that Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson will do anything but make the lives of trans people harder & push for more exclusion based on her answers at the Women and Equalities Committee and Human Rights (Joint Committee) session today.

The lawyer account came on the scene around the same time of the post about how it was difficult to infiltrate trans spaces as opposed to the ease of manipulating terf spaces.
