Everyone with diabetes gets to decide how they refer to themselves and how they prefer to be referred to, and I get why calling yourself "diabetic" rubs some people the wrong way. But imo, it's a less ugly-sounding word than "diabetes" and I like to use it. So, like, don't police my shit. #T1D

Thinking about when I called myself "diabetic" at an Omnipod training and the instructor (who didn't have diabetes herself) told me: "We actually don't use that term." I think I have more of a say in that than you do?? #T1D

Fortunately I have a few months' worth of insulin and pods stocked up, but I'm screwed with the CGM situation.

First time unemployed since my type 1 diagnosis. Here's what it will cost to stay alive for a month with my shitty new insurance:

Continuous glucose monitor: $470
Insulin pump pods: $710

TOTAL: $1,270
