I’m saddened to receive an email from the Baltimore Enoch Pratt library this morning announcing the discontinuation of Hoopla access after September. As an avid reader and audiobook listener, I will feel this loss.

It’s so important to give young kids real adults on screen, modeling critical thinking skills and social-emotional learning.

Our teens, too, got an impromptu civics and US history lesson at the dinner table tonight, and then celebrated Senator Booker, watching his final 45m over dessert. They were rapt, and I could see a lasting impression being made in real time.

Today’s #filmschoolwithmom was Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Teens appreciated the music and visual transitions to varying degrees, but found consensus on this feedback for Coppola: “Calm down with all the boobs and the moaning.”

Had the absolute pleasure of introducing my film-loving teenage kids to The Sixth Sense yesterday. Still riding the high of their reactions to the dual climaxes of the movie (car scene with Toni Collette and HJO followed by the big reveal.) They were in awe. It was so satisfying. #filmschoolwithmom

Instead of spending money on a fancy dinner, we bought Passports to celebrate our anniversary last year and ended up seeing SO MANY amazing concerts throughout the year. It was more than worth the price, and I ended up getting exposure to way more new-to-me music than I would have, otherwise.
