because we're going to feel the effects of this sloppiness. This might have been perfectly fine for a normal employment tribunal, but they were either naive as to how it would be presented or didn't care how it would affect us. We're always at the mercy of a ton of people who don't care enough.

Whatever (presumably cis) person wrote this up had little on the line as people in the industry will understand what errors and inaccuracies are normal, but that doesn't apply to the press obviously. We know they lie about trans people. Any trans person writing this up would be extremely meticulous

Honestly, my frustration with this is that the people who wrote this up knew they were under huge scrutiny. This case has been front page news for ages and anyone who has seen any news source for even 5 minutes in the last year will know how much the press goes for cases involving trans people.

Also out of game the developers said that they had failed in their writing if people didn't see them as full people in their own right. It's very clear what their intention is with regards to that.

That's absolutely not true. Look up the word. There's no mention of nations or governments. You might be mixing this up with the first amendment; meta censoring wouldn't be a first amendment issue, but that's not relevant in Europe. It's 100% censorship, just not government censorship.

I can't see snuffing out all those lives as the moral high ground ending. Maelle's ending is horrific to Verso specifically, Verso's ending is similarly horrific to Maelle *and* destroys a world with everyone in it.

I think calling them not real is missing the point of the story. Them being real people with full lives is core to what makes it a tough choice. If a god came into our universe today and said they're turning off the simulation, should we all accept it because we're not "real"?

Honestly, the process the tribunal wanted them to follow seems horrendously unfair too. If that's what they have to do, that's what they have to do, but how the fuck is it reasonable to by default exclude a trans person while they figure out a way to keep them separated for every complaint?

That's a Welsh thing. Norway is mostly untouched wilderness, but it's Wales that likes to have peninsula that turn into islands at high tide.

Most of my experience with camping involves either random islands with 0 human activity nearby or high up in mountains with maybe 10 cottages within 50 miles. Being within a reasonable distance of a B&B simply wasn't going to occur to me. 😂

The way we did it would just be to take a boat to any uninhabited island (there are thousands) and set up camp. I didn't realise it was big

Yeah, it's "fun" that simply going above and beyond in making trans people's lives miserable is now one of the fast tracks to a seat in the house of lords. I can't tell if it's despite the other bigotries they've shown or if those are bonus points in their favour, but transphobia is highly valued.
