03.02.2026 20:04 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Bloomberg report by Alex Wickham: The UK has become seriously concerned that more protectionist policies pursued by the EU could exclude British companies from its supply chains in key sectors, derailing a reset in post-Brexit relations and costing firms billions of pounds. Keir Starmerβs government is lobbying the EU against restricting market access for British businesses under the blocβs βMade in Europeβ initiative, sources tell Bloomberg.
Classic. Looks like Brexit may be about to take another giant bite of the UK economy because we're out of the EU club at the exact moment the EU's becoming more protectionist as a defence against Trump and China.
What's Starmer doing? Dithering and begging.

A special election in a reliably pro-Trump Texan district, where the majority of voters are Republican, Trump personally endorsed the MAGA candidate, and the GOP outspent Dems by 7-to-1.
Democrats won with a 31% swing.
The mid-terms are going to be a wipeout.

Before Brexit, the areas described here would automatically have qualified for EU funding because they are deprived.
Now, they have to battle central government for whatever scraps Labour deign to throw their way.

Matt Goodwin says this is "a chance for the hardworking, law-abiding, tax-paying people," such as his boss, Nigel Farage, who doesn't do his job in parliament, lied about why he avoided constituency work, admitted to breaking 17 laws last week alone, and still faces questions about tax avoidance.
