07.11.2025 07:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The media won't tell you this but the majority of women who use the Hampstead women's pond ate fully supportive of trans inclusion and have voted that way. So why are the transphobes trying to overturn their democratic decision in the courts?

Yikes, I hope any disruption is minimal (and preferably non-existent)!

Border Patrol agent Gregory Lairmore is on the stand narrating surveillance video of the sammie toss.
'Now heβs struck me with the sandwich,' Lairmore says.

03.11.2025 12:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One wonders if previous years' non-mandatory uptake was so poor that pharmacies ended up having to dispose of large amounts of unused vaccines, leading to their reticence to order large stocks this time round.

we've finally answered humanity's most ancient question, "What happens after you die?"
the answer is JD Vance fucks your wife
It looked great, and was definitely a cut above the usual phoned-in Netflix trash, but it didn't really settle on what it was trying to say so it ended up telling about three or four different stories at once, and none of them in a particularly satisfying way.

01.11.2025 11:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh, the expulsion of trans people is merely the tip of the iceberg. The purity tests will shift focus onto other queer folk, and inevitably it will mutate along racial lines as well.

01.11.2025 11:23 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Oh, absolutely. Ironically, I fell off reading Discworld in the mid-90s so I haven't actually read a lot of the later ones, but I would say that the only Pratchett that is optional if you're being completist are his SF books Strata and Dark Side of the Sun, which are fine but not essential.
01.11.2025 10:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I started reading Discworld, there were only about 5 or 6 books published (I am very old), so reading COM and TLF was pretty much inevitable if you liked the other Discworld stuff. By chance I did actually start with Equal Rites anyway.
01.11.2025 10:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Could it be that the increasing complexity of everything has made problems seem so intractable that people feel the Gordian Knot solution is the only way to make any progress any more?
